Years ago before there was the “Rain forest” that changes our shopping culture for better or for worst, my wife had a little online business for handcrafted pearls and semi-precious stones jewelry items which she made herself. She was very good with stringing pearls and semi precious stones necklaces and needed me to work on the metal smithing part for some of her creations. Of course I jumped into it as that would give the excuse to get metal smithing tools and at the same time quenched my curiosity in the field of jewerly making.

Keshi Pearl has been widely misunderstood or confused by the so called uninformed “expert” to be part of the inner shell of the oyster shell. It is actually a type of pearl formed through the pearl producing secretion that did not turn into the round shaped pearl that we all come to identify pearl as. Because of how they are created, they are unique in shape, sizes, and coloration. Many years ago, Keshi pearl was very trendy item in the jewelry making industry.
